A lot of new 5G smartphones are expected to launch this month, some even in India. However, we’re most excited about the following five smartphones, which bring some unique features such as a liquid lens camera, or a brand new chipset, or something else. Smartphones such as the POCO M3 Pro 5G, Mi MIX Fold, Realme X7 Max, POCO F3 GT, and the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G will launch in the coming weeks, globally and in India. Let’s take a brief look at the phones, see what they have to offer, and why we’re excited about them.
POCO M3 Pro 5G
As per rumours, the POCO M3 Pro 5G is pretty much a rebranded Redmi Note 10 5G. However, the phone features a new and unique design that’s sure to catch the eye. The device will launch on May 19th and will be an affordable 5G offering from POCO. The company has confirmed that the phone will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC and feature a 90Hz 6.5-inch FHD+ display. And if it is indeed a rebranded Redmi Note 10 5G, then it’ll also get a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor.
Realme X7 Max
The Realme X7 Max was supposed to be the first smartphone in India to launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. However, the company has pushed the launch date due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. This device is expected to be a rebranded Realme GT Neo, which is already available in China. The X7 Max moniker was revealed via a leaked retail box image for the device. The phone will come with a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel offering a 120Hz refresh rate, a 64-megapixel triple rear camera setup, and a 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast charging support.
Mi MIX Fold
The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold, the company’s first foldable smartphone, was officially unveiled in China in March. The device is expected to launch in India very soon as it was recently spotted on the Indian IMEI website. The Mi MIX Fold has a design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold2, but it has something that no other smartphone has. The phone features a unique Liquid Lens 8-megapixel telephoto sensor at the back, which can help the camera act as both a 30x zoom lens and a macro unit. It also gets a 108-megapixel primary sensor, Snapdragon 888 SoC, up to 16GB RAM, a 5,020mAh dual battery, and 67W fast charging support.
POCO F3 GT
The POCO F3 GT is another smartphone on this list, which will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. It is essentially a rebranded Redmi K40 Enhanced Gaming Edition and will be the first gaming-centric phone from POCO. We don’t really have an official India launch date for the phone, but it will reportedly arrive this month. The phone will feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 5G support, up to 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage, 64-megapixel triple rear camera setup, and a 5,065mAh battery with 67W fast charging technology.
Samsung Galaxy A52 5G
The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is an affordable mid-range 5G smartphone with a design that will remind you of the more expensive Galaxy S21 variants. The company was supposed to launch the device last month but faced some chip shortages, which is why it hasn’t arrived in India yet. There have been a few reports that have suggested that Samsung will launch the phone in India this month. This phone comes with a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and a hole-punch cutout. It is equipped with an octa-core chipset, up to 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, 64-megapixel quad rear camera setup, and a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.
