Samsung appears to be working on a watered-down version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7, called the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. We stumbled upon on the tablet’s details via the FCC website. The model number on FCC is SM-TA220, which is similar to the Galaxy Tab A7’s SM-TA500 model. The FCC listing also tells us that this is the Wi-Fi-only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. There appears to be a device codenamed SM-TA225 too, which is shown to have LTE functionality in the document. While the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite FCC listing doesn’t tell us a whole lot about the tablet, it gives us a rough idea about what it could have in store for us.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite specifications
For starters, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will support dual-band Wi-Fi, i.e 2.4GHz and 5GHz. While the exact Bluetooth version isn’t mentioned, we can reasonably assume that it will be Bluetooth 5.0, at the very least. The tablet will be powered by the HQ-3565S battery, which will is an underwhelming 5,100mAh battery that will support 15W fast charging. Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite FCC listing shows it will measure 212.53mm in length and 124.7mm in width. At this point, it is too early to speculate what the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has in store for us hardware-wide. We’re probably looking at some entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 4xx series chipset coupled with 2GB/ 3GB of RAM and 32GB/ 64GB of storage. The camera setup on the Galaxy Tab A7 was already underwhelming, so that will likely remain the same.
