HMD Global is working on an upcoming Nokia C series smartphone, a new benchmark listing has revealed. Named Nokia C3, the smartphone will have specifications such as 1.2GHz octa-core Unisoc processor and 3GB of RAM, according to a Geekbench listing. However, the exact name of the chipset is not known at the moment as the listing only mentions GamoraPlus SoC. The upcoming Nokia C3 will run the Android 10 operating system. Little else is known about the smartphone at the moment, though we do know it will be an entry-level device considering it is part of the Nokia C series and uses a Unisoc chipset.
The listing shows the smartphone scored 805 in single-core and 3430 in multi-core tests on Geekbench, which is par for the course for an entry-level smartphone. This is the second time in two days that the Nokia C3 has appeared on Geekbench, though it should be noted that the first instance didn’t mention the model name. The first listing showed that HMD Global will be the manufacturer, GamoraPlus will be the chipset, and Android 10 will be the software. However, it showed 2GB of RAM, instead of 3GB – this means the Nokia C3 will come in two memory variants at least.
We can expect the smartphone to feature entry-level features that have previously been seen on the C series, such as an HD+ display, and dual or maybe triple cameras. Since the previous C series model, Nokia C2, was launched in March 2020 and the C1 went official in December 2019, the launch of Nokia C3 may not be too far away as well. However, it will be prudent to wait for a few more certifications before estimating a launch timeline.
It is worth noting that Nokia C3 will likely be an Android Go model considering it packs just 2GB RAM for the entry-level variant. Moreover, both the C1 and C2 were also Android Go models.
