Vivo X50 series India launch has been teased via a promotional video shared with 91mobiles by retail sources. The short 10-second video reveal that the Vivo X-series will be ‘coming soon’. While it doesn’t mention the country, retail sources have confirmed to us that the X50 series is coming to India soon. To recall, Vivo India CEO Jerome Chen had also confirmed that the X50 phones will launch in India. The timing of the teaser video suggests that the phones will launch in July, which is in line with our previous report. The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro were reportedly certified by Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) a few days ago.
The Vivo X50 series, which includes the X50, X50 Pro, and X50 Pro+, has already been launched in China. They are the world’s first smartphones to come with gimbal-like camera stabilisation technology that drastically reduces shakiness while shooting videos. The phones also come with 5G support and quad cameras.
Vivo X50 series specifications
The Vivo X50 series runs Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10.5 out of the box. The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro both rock a 6.56-inch full-HD+ (1080×2376 pixels) AMOLED curved-edged display with 92.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Pro model also supports HDR10+. They are powered by Snapdragon 765G 5G SoC coupled with Adreno 620 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. Internal storage is offered up to 256GB. While the Vivo X50 packs a 4,200mAh battery, the X50 Pro houses a 4,315mAh unit. Both phones support 33W fast-charging.
In optics, the Vivo X50 and X50 Pro both sport an AI quad-camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX598 primary sensor, a 13MP Samsung S5K3L6 lens, an 8MP telephoto lens and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, the phones have a 32MP Samsung GD1 sensor for selfies and video chats.
The Vivo X50 Pro+, on the other hand, is the company’s flagship smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC. The handset features premium faux leather finish on the back and 6.56-inch display HDR10+ and 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It houses a 4,315mAh battery and supports 44W wired charging support fuels the handset. For photography, there is a 50MP quad camera setup at the back with Samsung GN1 sensor primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens with 60x hybrid zoom, a 13MP wide-angle lens, and an 8MP macro lens. Up front, the phone gets a 32MP sensor for selfies.
