Redmi Note 9 design revealed in renders hours ahead of launch

Redmi Note 9 launch is set for today via an online event that will also see Xiaomi announce the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Mi Note 10 Lite. Ahead of the launch event, some alleged official-looking Redmi Note 9 renders have surfaced online. Popular tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has shared these Redmi Note 9 images, which confirm the design as well as colour options. The smartphone will look similar to the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which has already been launched in India. The phone will tout a punch-hole display and quad cameras on the back as well as a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Some key specifications rumoured include the new Helio G85 processor, 48MP main camera and 18W fast charging support.

Redmi Note 9 specifications

The Redmi Note 9 is set to be the world’s first smartphone with the MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The smartphone could come with a 6.53-inch full HD+ LCD display. We expect to see three RAM and storage variants – 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB, and 6GB + 128GB – which can be further expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. It’s expected to run Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top out of the box.

In optics, the Redmi Note 9 is likely to feature a 48MP quad camera setup on the back. The phone may house a 5,020mAh battery and support 18W fast charging. Connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C are expected. As for the price of Redmi Note 9, it’s rumoured to be around Rs 16,000 in Europe. However, if the phone comes to India, you can expect the pricing to be closer to Rs 10,000.
