Google Pixel 4a has been rumoured quite a lot in recent weeks, and we are getting closer and closer to its launch. The mid-range Google phone is expected to launch in May, and a German website has revealed the Pixel 4a sale date as May 22nd, courtesy some internal documents of Vodafone. This means that the Pixel 4a could launch a week or two before going on sale. The smartphone is expected to take on the iPhone SE 2020, which is Apple’s new affordable iPhone. The latter has been priced in the US starting at $399 (Rs 42,500 in India) and the Pixel 4a is also rumoured to start with the same price tag.
Google Pixel 4a specifications
Coming to the specifications, the Pixel 4a design is widely rumoured to include a punch-hole display on the front and squarish camera bump on the back with a single camera and an LED flash. The handset is tipped to sport a 5.8-inch flat display with a 443ppi screen and a rather disappointing 60Hz refresh rate. The phone is said to run Android 10 OS out of the box and rock the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC under the hood. Google may ship the device with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage onboard.
For photography, the Pixel 4a could sport a 12MP rear cam with OIS, and an 8MP selfie snapper (with 84-degree field-of-view) on the front. The smartphone will house a 3,080mAh battery and support for 18W Type-C fast charging. Other features may include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, and standard connectivity options.
