“Samsung Galaxy M01 seems to be an entry-level phone with specifications like Snapdragon 439 SoC and 6.5-inch display”
Samsung just announced the Galaxy M11 a few days ago as its budget smartphone in the Galaxy M series. It seems that there might be another phone in the lineup that could slot below the Galaxy M11. Samsung is rumoured to be working on the Galaxy M01 with its colour options and storage variants having leaked out earlier this month. The smartphone with model number SM-M015G has now been spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance website, suggesting it could be nearing its launch.
As per the listing, it would seem that the device will be supporting single-band 2.4GHz wi-fi, which is expected from a budget smartphone. Another thing to notice is that the device will be operating on Android 10 out-of-the-box, which means that we can expect One UI 2.0 on the Galaxy M01. The model number of the device happens to be SM-M015G/DS indicating dual-SIM functionality thanks to the ‘DS’. It is quite likely that the phone will be released only in the markets where budget-centric phones make a lot of sales such as India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Russia and so on.
The Samsung Galaxy M01 also was spotted on Geekbench earlier this month and the device scored 856 points in single-core and 3327 in multi-core tests. The listing also revealed the same Android 10 OS on the device along with a couple of key specs.
It’s possible the Samsung Galaxy M01 might ship with the entry-level Snapdragon 439 SoC and have a 6.4/6.5-inch display, in-line with Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M10s. It could have dual SIM support, 4G connectivity and a beefy battery with no fast-charging support. There could be a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and multiple cameras at the back. Unfortunately, that’s everything we know about the Samsung Galaxy M01 at the moment, but we should come across more details soon.
